The fortress was built in the 13th century and took about 12 years to build! The total length of the walls is about 8 kilometers, and the fortress holds up to 160 towers.  Construction of the Red Tower began during the reign of Seljuk Sultan Ala ad-Din Kayqubad and was completed in 1226. The tower is named after the red bricks used in its construction. For centuries, the Red Tower defended the port as well as the inhabitants of Alanya from attacks from the sea.

Because of this, the Red Tower became a symbol of the city. We also stop at several places so you can take a dip in the lovely turquoise sea.  The fourth attraction is the Dockyard. The shipyard was built by order of Ala ad-Din Kayqubad in 1228. New ships were built there and old ones were repaired. The dock is still in use by locals.  After all these historical sights, you get to see a phosphorus, a pirate, and a cave of lovers, where pirates prematurely kept their prisoners.
